Mon film prefere

When asked what my favorite movie is, a myriad of different titles come to my mind.  Much like my taste in music, my taste for particular genres of movies is broad.  My mood, current financial situtation, how my kids are behaving, good hair day vs bad hair day, and my love life all play a small role in what kind of movie I want to watch.  I have a pretty swell husband so I will gladly watch a romance movie anytime.  The Notebook, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, tops my list as one of my favorite movies.  If you have yet to see this movie, I highly recommend watching it because it is a movie that reaches the audience of both men and women.  The movie tells the story of young lovers who drift apart but reconnect later in life.  The female character Ally, played by Rachel McAdams, is a strong-willed, vibrant woman.  Her love interest Noah, played by Ryan Gosling, is also a strong-willed character who knows what and who he wants in life.  After a couple years of separation and growing up, Noah and Ally find their way back to each other.  Throughout the movie, an older Noah is seen reading to and visiting a lady in a nursing home. We later find out that this lady is Ally,  and the book Noah is reading to her is the story of their life.  From how they met to present day, Noah takes Ally back in time each time he reads from this Notebook.  Ally has dementia and while she was healthy, she wrote her and Noah's story in the Notebook for Noah to read to her when she was no longer in her right mind.  Her hope was that by having the story read to her, her memories would come back.  The main line that sticks out to me in this movie, is the phrase, "Noah, Read this to me and I'll come back to you.-Ally"  Both the literal and figurative are present in that phrase because even though Ally is there in body with Noah while he is reading to her, her mind is not.  His wife is next to him but his wife is not next to him.  As sad as the story line is, it truly is a beautiful love story to watch.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sllRvco5Po

  2. I also do enjoy a romantic movie as well. The Notebook was one of the most memorable of them all as I recall as well. They give great meaning to the vow, "till death do us part." Their story makes me believe in the existence of true love and makes me respects and admire couples, like my grandparents and parents, who have been married for over forty plus years. True love is indeed forever, and I hope I have mine.
